Amanda Holden has revealed a secret ambition to swap dancing dogs for sheepdogs – with a role in the long-running Radio 4 soap The Archers.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge – who is also presenting the new ITV1 show Superstar – told Radio 2’s Steve Wright that she would love to make a visit to Ambridge.

“I wanna be on The Archers, I wanna open a fair or something on The Archers,” she said.

Amanda also confirmed that she would “definitely” be back on the panel for the next series of the show – but added that she was also keen to return to acting.

The 40-year-olds recently starred as Princess Fiona in Shrek the Musical in the West End, but ended her run early after falling pregnant with her daughter Hollie.

“I’d love to go back to acting,” Amanda admitted.

“I’ve kind of done my fill of West End stuff, I think – it’s tiring, it’s knackering, it’s brilliantly exciting when you do it, but it’s tough, even if you do go in at 5 o’clock.

“I think I’m primarily seen as a host and a presenter and a judge at the moment so I’m going to enjoy that window whilst it lasts ’cause it won’t last for very long and then I’ll go back to acting.”
