Amanda Holden has spoken about the grief she faced after learning that she had lost her unborn baby son.
Writing in her new autobiography No Holding Back, the Britain’s Got Talent judge revealed the heartbreaking moment when staff broke the news to her in hospital.
“From somewhere in the hospital, I could hear the most horrendous screams,” she said.
“I presumed it was from the labour ward until I realised I could hear my daughter’s name, Lexi, being shouted out animalistically.”
She added: “It was me. It was me wailing and making the most horrific guttural noises.”
The actress added that she feared her husband Chris would blame her for the loss of their son – whom they called Theo – and admitted she wanted to try for another baby within minutes of his stillbirth.
Amanda later went on to give birth to a second daughter, Hollie, but suffered a traumatic delivery which left her fighting for her life.
She said of the pregnancy: “I had never felt so happy in my whole life.”
