Amanda Holden is apparently ‘thrilled’ about hosting a news show in the US.

Bosses at US network CBS have been impressed with Amanda on Britain’s Got Talent, according to the Daily Mirror.

A studio source told the newspaper: “Network executives were blown way by Amanda’s cut-glass British accent and warm personality.”

The programme – called The Early Show – has about 3.5 million viewers a day, so the 38-year-old has reason to be anxious.

The source said: “She has never presented any kind of hard news before so it is quite a challenge.

“She has a lot of live TV experience under her belt, and has presented before – but she is understandably nervous.”

Amanda will reportedly be making her first appearance on June 1, in what the source described as a ‘screen test’ before she is given a longer term role.

A spokesman for the former actress confirmed the news: “It is true. Amanda is thrilled.”
