Britain’s Got Talent sensation Ryan O’Shaughnessy is facing an uncertain future on the show after reportedly failing to be released from his contract with the Irish version of The Voice.

Earlier this week The Sun revealed that the 19-year-old – who wowed the judges with the self-penned song No Name on last Saturday’s show – had reached the live finals of The Voice in Ireland, which saw him committed to the show via a deal with Universal Music.

However the paper reports that the record label have refused to release him from the contract early – which could effectively end the teenager’s time on Britain’s Got Talent.

While Universal have said Ryan can continue on BGT, show bosses are less keen, reportedly saying, “Ryan can’t take part in the live shows unless he is released from the contract.”

Ryan is now reportedly set to seek legal advice regarding the situation.

The teenager made his mark last Saturday with a song which he had written for a mystery friend whom he wanted to take on a date.

The girl was later revealed as 19-year-old schoolfriend Katie Lucia Keegan – but she turned down his offer. However Ryan has said the pair will remain friends.
