Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon has admitted that while there have been many good acts on this series of the show, David Walliams has been the real star.

The singer said that the Little Britain star had also brought out Simon Cowell’s softer side through their relationship on the judging panel.

“David is the star,” Alesha said. “He’s a comedian and that’s what I expected of him and what the public expected of him. I think he’s fantastic.”

“Simon and David are very similar, they’ve got a lot in common, they both love women but are very feminine.”

Alesha – who joined BGT this year from Strictly Come Dancing – also tipped operatic duo Charlotte Jaconelli and Jonathan Antoine to do well in the competition.

“Jonathan and Charlotte made the hairs on my arms stand up,” she confessed.

“He had this humility about him, he didn’t realise how great he was. I think he could go really far in the competition”.

She added that she “felt really bad” for Jonathan’s singing partner Charlotte after Simon suggested he consider a solo career, saying, “I think she complemented him really well.”
