David Walliams signs up for Britain’s Got Talent

Comedian David Walliams has reportedly signed a two-year deal worth £250,000 to join the judging panel of Britain’s Got Talent.

According to the Sunday Mirror the Little Britain star will join the other judges later this month when auditions for the new series begin.

The news comes following months of speculation that he would be a new addition to the panel, which will also reportedly see the return of Amanda Holden and Simon Cowell.

“David can’t wait to be a judge – it’s right up his street,” a source told the paper. “He’s always been a big fan of BGT and will enjoy embracing the more eccentric side of the show.”

“Producers are especially happy they’ve managed to get him signed up for two years.

“He’s going to be a great asset and will give the show a completely new lease of life.”

David was brought in following the departure of both Michael McIntyre and David Hasselhoff, both of whom were on the panel for just one series.

It is also expected that Simon Cowell – who missed auditions in 2011 but returned for the live finals – will return to the panel full-time.

And another star will stand in for Amanda Holden – who is due to give birth this month – during auditions, with rumoured names including Dannii Minogue and Samantha Womack.
