Britain’s Got Talent singer Kathleen Jenkins has revealed that she has been confused for world famous opera star Katherine Jenkins on more than one occasion.

Kathleen, 25, who stunned viewers and the judges with her version of The Rolling Stones’ Wild Horses at the BGT auditions on Saturday night, told What’s on TV: “I can remember a man coming up to me in a holiday park once and said: ‘Don’t you look different with dark hair… I watched you on tour last year, you were incredible’. Then I had to explain to him… it took a while for him to understand.”

She went on: “There was a charity event in our town for our Christmas lights, they announced I was going to be singing… quite a few more people than should have turned up because they thought it was someone else!”

Kathleen also revealed that her namesake sent her a Tweet following her audition.

And it seems she’s also been likened to Britain’s Got Talent star – and 2009 runner up – Susan Boyle…

“It’s incredible that people have likened me to Susan Boyle,” said Kathleen. “She’s an absolutely incredible singer and I’d say she’s a beautiful woman – she just seems so down to earth and such a nice person. And for people to be comparing me to a person of that standard is absolutely amazing.”

Britain’s Got Talent continues on Saturdays at 8pm on ITV.
