Kelly Brook will reportedly receive her full Britain’s Got Talent contract fee of nearly £200,000 despite being axed from the show after six days.
The Daily Mirror reports that the 29-year-old actress and TV personality will receive £33,000 for each of the six shows she filmed before being axed. The Sun reports the total sum to be £100,000.
Britain’s Got Talent creator Simon Cowell has agreed that Kelly is entitled to it after rumours emerged that the reason for her sacking was her performances.
A Britain’s Got Talent source told the Mirror: “People close to Kelly are furious about this. She has been royally screwed over and stitched up by Simon. How can he judge whether she will fit in after such a short time? He didn’t give her enough time.”
A show insider said: “Kelly is feeling down. It was a shock when she got the call on Monday morning telling her she was out. It seems Cowell is embarrassed by the whole affair and wants it to go away, hence why he’s giving Kelly the cash.”
Cowell is said to have paid up in full as he axed judge Kelly purely because she failed to shine on screen and not over any incompetence issues. Officially, bosses insist a fourth judge alongside Cowell, Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden didn’t work.
A Britain’s Got Talent spokeswoman said: “The format of the show is cleaner with three judges which was not fully appreciated ahead of filming.”
