Piers Morgan may be poised to quit Britain’s Got Talent, it’s been reported.
The former newspaper editor has been approached by US broadcaster CNN about replacing Larry King and has already signed up for two more years of America’s Got Talent.
If he chooses to take on more US work, Piers, 45, would struggle to fit in his judging role on the British version of the show, the Mirror claimed, leaving the panel with two empty seats.
A source said of the new contract: “It’s great news for Piers, but it doesn’t give him time to do BGT.”
Simon Cowell, 50, has already stated that he won’t attend the audition stage of Britain’s Got Talent next year because of the ‘horrific’ acts.
But a spokesman for ITV said Piers was still very much in the picture as far as future shows were concerned.
“We’re absolutely talking to Piers. These discussions are going very well and we fully intend for him to be playing a major part on ITV going forward.”
