Susan Boyle’s US profile is set to get a boost with a glossy photoshoot with top-end fashion magazine Harper’s Bazaar.
The Scottish singer will not grace the cover of the magazine, but her representatives confirmed an interview and accompanying pictures will feature in September’s issue.
It is the latest in Susan’s media assault in the US. The Britain’s Got Talent runner-up has already been on several American shows, including Oprah.
The 48-year-old has had a lower profile since the finale of the televised talent show, in which she lost out to dance troupe Diversity, despite receiving a standing ovation from the audience.
Susan, who had been the bookies’ favourite to win, had to be taken to the Priory Clinic in central London hours after the show suffering from exhaustion.
But she has since returned to the stage. At Wembley Arena last month, Susan received a another standing ovation after singing Memories from the musical Cats and I Dreamed A Dream from Les Miserables.
Harper’s Bazaar said that it did not comment on upcoming editorial content, but denied reports that Boyle would be the cover star.
But Nicola Phillips, who represents the singer in the UK, said: “There is a photoshoot and interview in the September issue.”
This latest development comes after The Sun reported that Susan Boyle met her idol Elaine Paige on US TV.
A source said of the meeting: “Susan was completely starstruck. It was like watching a kid at Christmas. It really was a dream come true.”
The West End star told Susan that she would be honoured to sing a duet on the debut album she is currently recording.
