Ofcom is looking into complaints about Britain’s Got Talent contestant Stevie Starr – aka The Regurgitator – who appeared on Monday night’s semi-final.
The media watchdog revealed it had received ‘a handful’ of complaints about Stevie’s act, which saw him swallow a lightbulb and other items.
Despite hosts Ant and Dec warning viewers not to try Stevie’s act at home – some viewers were concerned that it would encourage dangerous behaviour among children.
An Ofcom spokesman said they were investigating the complaints, according to BBC Online.
During his act, Stevie was also seen appearing to swallow an engagement ring belonging to judge Amanda Holden.
He swallowed the ring, followed by a locked padlock and its key – and viewers were stunned when Amanda’s ring re-emerged locked inside the padlock.
Stevie failed to win a place in this weekend’s final.
