Antony Costa is set to make a return to Casualty with a guest role as the victim of a flare accident.

The former Blue singer has appeared in the BBC medical drama before, as well as its sister show Holby City in 2010, and told the Daily Mirror he was happy to be back on set.

He said: “It’s really exciting to be filming with Casualty again. I’m a big fan of the show, and I enjoyed myself so much last time it was an easy decision to return.”

Antony plays a man who suffers severe burns after being hit by a flare set off by a teenager, with Doctor Who and The Bill star Georgia Moffett playing his fiancee.

He added: “It’s been a pleasure working with Georgia and the whole team in Cardiff (where Casualty is filmed).”

Antony also said Casualty wasn’t the only BBC show he had his sights on for acting work – he fancies starring opposite Danny Dyer as the latest member of EastEnders‘ Carter clan, too.

He said: “I have had a life long dream to be in EastEnders. I can see myself playing Mick Carter’s long lost cousin or something like that.

“I have always wanted to play a villain; it’s a role I could really see myself getting my teeth stuck into.”
