Ex-EastEnder and The Bill star Louisa Lytton stars as a grumpy goth in this week’s episode of Casualty…
Tell us about your role in Casualty
“Grace is a 17-year-old goth with a lot of attitude. She has a bit of a crush on this guy as she’s seen him around. He passes out, she calls 999 and that’s how she ends up in casualty. While Grace is on the ward, they discover she’s got psoriasis all over her back. That’s what’s made her really self-conscious and hide behind this goth facade.”
What was it like being made up as a goth?
“It was brilliant. I’ve never done anything like it before. I wanted to play her because I’d never done a Casualty before and I also knew I’d look a lot different so thought it’d be good to do something different. It was great fun!”
How does she get on with Shona?
“They’re two young teens and there’s a bit of an argument between them.”
What was the make-up like while making up your back?
“I was in make up about an hour an a half. It looked really real and made me want to itch! It’s amazing what they can do.”
You’ve been so busy – what’s been the highlight of the past few years.
“Probably Strictly. It wasn’t like work at all. It was brilliant fun and was for charity and was such a great experience. It’s been a great few years – I’ve been very lucky.”
Do you still watch EastEnders?
“I don’t. My family do, but for me it’s too strange to watch as I can’t watch it as a TV show. You watch your friends! It’s weird. I keep in touch with a lot of my old friends there.”
What would be your ideal role?
“I don’t know. That’s a hard question. Maybe something with dancing would be brilliant! Like a Fame-esque thing would be great.”
