Despite making it to week 12 in the last Strictly Come Dancing, Casualty star Patrick Robinson has yet to see any of his performances!

In a recent chat with What’s on TV he explains: “It may seem a bit weird, but I still haven’t watched one of my dances on Strictly Come Dancing. I’m critical about myself and what I see isn’t what everyone else sees!

“I’ve been an actor for over 30 years yet it’s still very difficult for me to watch myself doing anything – seeing the back of my head in action or hearing myself speak, I find that very difficult to watch. I end up thinking I look terrible or sound cheesy!”

Patrick, who regularly played nurse Martin ‘Ash’ Ashford in Casualty from 1990 to 1996, and returned to the medical drama last year as a consultant, adds: “I did watch my first episode when I returned to Casualty, just to see if Ash the nurse was now believable as Ash the consultant. I think it worked pretty well and was pleased with it.

“I love playing Ash. I’m very excited about what will happen to him in the coming series – and hopefully the coming years!”

Casualty screens each Saturday on BBC1.
