Celebrity Big Brother host Emma Willis predicts Winston McKenzie won’t last long in the house after the former boxer and ex UKIP spokesman aired some homophobic attitudes in an introductory video before he entered.
McKenzie said in the video he would ‘cope’ with gay housemates, but would have his ‘back against a brick wall at all time’.
Almost 200 viewers have complained to Ofcom about his comments, although Channel 5 so far hasn’t commented. In fact, the network chose to broadcast the inflammatory remarks.
Emma told This Morning she was shocked by the video but didn’t have time to challenge him before he mounted the stairs in the Big Brother house, although the boos from the crowd provided some instant feedback.
Emma said: “It’s a tricky one on launch night for me, you see see that 60 seconds VT and last night, it’s all on show, you’ve got a lot of people to get in, so to challenge somebody on that point, do you then [challenge others on theirs]?
“I don’t think he’ll last very long [and when he comes out] that’s when the challenges and questions will come.”
Big Brother’s Bit on the Side presenter Rylan Clark-Neal said: “I can’t wait to speak to Winston. I’ve had a little wall made up, bring it out on his eviction.”
