Cheryl Fergison has become the second person to be evicted from the Celebrity Big Brother house, following the second public vote of the week.
The former EastEnders star got the boot just two days after model Jasmine Lennard became the first person to leave the house – and after a vote which saw five of the housemates nominated.
And the 48-year-old lost out after receiving the lowest number of votes behind Prince Lorenzo Borghese, Coleen Nolan, Julian Clary and Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino.
Julian and The Situation had been told earlier in the show that they were safe from eviction, leaving the remaining trio to ‘sell themselves’ to viewers – with each given 20 seconds to plead for their place in the house.
However Cheryl proved unable to save herself despite insisting she was ‘providing a bit of a laugh’ in the house and ‘trying to say it as it is’.
Afterwards she admitted she was “chuffed” to have lasted as long as she did in the house but added, “I thought I would go a bit further.”
She also revealed that she would like to see Julian or Martin Kemp be crowned series champion.
The next eviction will take place on Wednesday night.
