Hollywood star Tara Reid, Jedward and Speaker’s wife Sally Bercow helped kick off a new series of Celebrity Big Brother.

After weeks of speculation, the line-up was finally revealed as 11 figures of varying levels of fame and notoriety entered the house in Elstree, Hertfordshire.

Sally – married to House of Commons Speaker John – had been widely tipped to appear in the Channel 5 show. But there has been criticism of the effect her role in the entertainment show may have on her husband’s Parliamentary role.

American Pie actress Tara is another who had been expected to take part, and Kerry Katona, a regular in the pages of OK! magazine which is owned by C5 boss Richard Desmond, was also a near certainty.

Others entering the house for the first time are traveller Paddy Doherty, best known for his appearance on Channel 4’s Big Fat Gypsy Wedding and Amy Childs from ITV2’s The Only Way Is Essex.

Other names will be rather less well-known, including male model Bobby Sabel and Waterloo Road actor Lucien Laviscount, even if their faces seem naggingly familiar.

The line-up is completed by paparazzi boss Darryn Lyons and actress Pamela Bach, the former wife of David Hasselhoff.

Viewers can expect to see sparks fly, friendships form and various humiliations for the stars who have agreed to take part for fees which will total hundreds of thousands of pounds.

Many will also be keeping a keen eye on the fortunes of the programme itself to see how it will fare in the ratings following its switch from Channel 4 to 5.
