Katie Price upsets expectations to win Celebrity Big Brother

An emotional Katie Price has won Celebrity Big Brother beating Katie Hopkins into second place, but the former glamour model is baffled at her win as she thought she had been ‘boring’.

The 36-year-old star – who has been described by the controversial Hopkins as ‘just thick, not that funny and obsessed by her boobs’ – looked shocked when host Emma Willis announced she was the winner.

The pair have history in that Hopkins, 39, criticised Price in the past for naming her daughter Bunny, but Price said tonight: “I’ve seen she’s got a real soft side.”

The two women sat right next to each other on a sofa and as Emma was about to announce who was in third place, Price was making an effort to breathe deeply as Hopkins sat fanning her in a bid to calm her down.

Price, who has had issues with her recent breast surgery and was allowed to leave the house for a medical consultation, appeared to hold or support her chest as she made her way down the steps towards the cheering crowd.

The mother-of-five, who married again in 2013, was wearing a loose-fitting silver top which came right up to her neck, skin-tight white leggings and skyscraper platform heels.

She struggled to fight back tears at the beginning of her interview with Emma, saying: “I don’t understand.”

The star, who is a familiar face on reality television, having twice appeared on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! and starred in a number of her own series about her life, said: “I think I’ve been boring so I don’t know why I’m here.”

Price, who entered house part-way through the Channel 5 series, referred to her medical problem and said she had been taking medication, citing that as a reason for her perceived ‘boringness’.

But she added: “I’m still me.”

Hopkins, who was met with a more positive reaction from the crowd than when she entered the house, said it was ‘great’ to come second.

“I am a tough old bird,” she said.

The former businesswoman said she enjoyed standing up to contentious housemate Perez Hilton, who was involved in a number of arguments in the house.

Earlier, Calum Best, who celebrated his 34th birthday today, came third.

The son of football legend George Best, Calum said he was ‘thrilled to bits’, but that he was ‘absolutely exhausted’, adding: “It has been so full on.”

He said Perez Hilton gave him reason to lose his temper in the house.

Calum said Price coming into the house part-way through the series was like a ‘breath of fresh air’, adding: “I think Katie’s awesome.”

Keith Chegwin, 58, came fourth and received a positive reaction from the crowd when he left the house.

The TV presenter said that while his experience in the house had been a ‘nightmare’ from beginning to end, he ‘actually quite enjoyed it’.

He said Perez ‘disappointed’ him, saying: “I don’t want to know him.”

Cheggers said Hilton “didn’t care about people’s feelings”, adding: “I’ve washed my hands of him.”

Michelle Visage, 46, was first out of the house, receiving the fewest votes and coming fifth.

The singer, radio and TV presenter from the US, known for being on RuPaul’s Drag Race, was met with cheers and said getting to the final was a ‘huge coup’ for her.

She said she is “honoured, blessed and humbled” to have reached the final with her four fellow finalists.

During the controversial series, R’n’B star Alexander O’Neal, former Coronation Street star Ken Morley and ex-Baywatch actor Jeremy Jackson all left the house in scenarios that were not usual evictions.

O’Neal became the third person to leave the show unexpectedly, following the removal of Morley and Jackson.

Other housemates included Patsy Kensit, Nadia Sawalha, Camila “Cami Li” Figueras, Alicia Douvall and Kavana.
