Coronation Street actress Alison King says the soap’s bosses have warned the cast not to undergo any dramatic style changes in the lead up to the live episode in December.

The episodes running up to the live episode are being filmed now, but, of course, the live show won’t be filmed until the night of transmission, so bosses are anxious that none of the cast undergo any changes.

Alison, who plays garment factory boss Carla Gordon, told at the Coronation Street 50th anniversary party: “Everybody’s been warned – don’t cut your hair, don’t be dyeing it, don’t be having any purple rinses…”

Reports suggest recent style changes by some of the cast, including weight loss and plastic surgery procedures, have upset producers, who laid down the edict a couple of weeks ago.

Coronation Street is filmed a two months ahead of transmission, so bosses are desperate to maintain continuity for the 50th anniversary live episode.
