Coronation Street’s Antony Cotton has tweeted to say that he is filming with Julie Hesmondhalgh on her last day at the soap.
The actor who plays factory machinist and barman Sean Tully admitted he felt depressed about waving goodbye to pal Julie, who has played Hayley Cropper in the ITV series for 15 years.
He tweeted: “Sat in me dressing room ready for @juliehes’s last day ever on Coronation Street. Feel numb. What a depressing day #thankyouforallofit.”
Julie is due to exit our screens in the new year as her character has terminal pancreatic cancer and has been involved in a right to die storyline with screen husband Roy (David Neilson).
Coronation Street films episodes a number of weeks in advance.
