Coronation Street actress Brooke Vincent has said that one good thing will come out of Sophie Webster’s car accident, in that it will bring her parents closer together again.
The troubled teenager’s mum and dad Kevin and Sally Webster, played by Michael Le Vell and Sally Dynevor, have a troubled relationship, but according to Brooke they will unite to support their daughter
“They are devastated and in shock for a long time so I think Kevin and Sally are finding it hard to get their head round it as well,” Brooke said.
“I think more than anything it’s going to bring the family closer together – which she likes because she likes that her dad is talking to her mum again. She wants the family to be a family.
“It’s important to show that the family are supporting Sophie and how it doesn’t just affect one person, it affects the families and others around.”
And Brooke also addressed the rumours that Sophie will start a relationship with her physiotherapist Jenna Kamara, saying: “They have a lot of scenes with her.”
Brooke added that that while others on the Street blame drug-taking friend Ryan Connor for the accident, Sophie will not bear any grudges over what has happened.
“She’s a Christian isn’t she? She believes everything happens for a reason,” Brooke pointed out.
“There was a scene in which Sophie told Ryan, ‘Me, in this hospital must mean something and that is that you should be off drugs.’ For her that’s enough. She’s not blaming him so why should he blame himself.
“I think since Ryan came back from uni they have been close but now, he’s got to appreciate her a lot more than he did.”
