As Tracy Barlow’s murder trial in Coronation Street grips the nation, a new documentary will look back at other Weatherfield residents who have been dragged through the courts.

Coronation Street: In The Dock – narrated by Phillip Schofield – will see the soap’s Kate Ford, who plays ‘Toxic Tracy’, chatting about her character’s legal troubles.

Fans will also see old favourites like Mark Eden, better known as Rita’s psychotic partner Alan Bradley, reflecting on his character’s deception and actual bodily harm case in 1989.

Charlie Lawson, aka Jim McDonald, discusses wayward screen son Steve’s trouble with the law and Anne Kirkbride recalls the 1998 campaign to free ‘Weatherfield One’ Deirdre from her wrongful imprisonment.

The Weatherfield regular had been charged with obtaining money and property by deception, and even Tony Blair promised to intervene to make sure the character was freed.

Coronation Street: In The Dock will be shown on ITV1 on April 5.
