Coronation Street’s Michael Le Vell ‘in rehab’

Michael Le Vell is said to have entered a medical facility last week in a bid to get help for his drink and alleged drug problem.

According to the Sunday People newspaper, the Coronation Street star, who plays Kevin Webster – who was cleared of sex offence charges last September – is now seeking professional help with his problems.

A source close to the 49-year-old star – whose ex-girlfriend Blanca Fouche recently claimed he snorted cocaine while indulging in a sex threesome with her and a friend – told the publication:

“Michael has finally come to the conclusion he needs help and he has been brave enough to get it”.

The star’s character is set to depart the soap again in late April and it is not known when he will return to the cobbles, but Michael’s co-stars are said to be pleased he has decided to enter rehab.

The source added: “Colleagues are delighted he’s made this very difficult decision and are happy he’s now out of harm’s way.”
