Coronation Street’s Kym is expecting a baby

Soap stars Kym Marsh and Jamie Lomas are expecting a baby.

The Coronation Street actress, who plays Michelle Connor, and the Hollyoaks hunk (both pictured) announced the news in a joint statement, saying they were ‘delighted’ that Kym’s children David and Emily and Jamie’s son Billy will have a baby brother or sister.

“We are delighted to be able to announce that we are having a baby. All our family and friends are very excited at the prospect of a new arrival next summer,” the pair said.

Kym, who split up with ex-EastEnders actor Jack Ryder in March, will temporarily leave Coronation Street in early summer to take maternity leave.

The show’s cast have been celebrating several pregnancies and births of late, with Julia Haworth, Ryan Thomas (Jason) and Andy Whyment (Kirk) all becoming parents in the last six months, and Alison King (Carla), Wanda Opalinska, Jane Danson (Leanne) and Jack Shepherd (David) looking forward to new additions in the New Year.
