Jane Danson – aka Coronation Street minx Leanne Battersby – has revealed she would love to get her on-screen sister Toyah back on the cobbles.

The star, who recently returned to the soap after giving birth to a baby boy, is delighted at being back on screen with her fictional parents, Janice (Vicky Entwistle) and Les (Bruce Jones).

But she told the Manchester Evening News that she would still love to see her character’s younger sister, played by Georgia Taylor, back in the soap again too.
“We’re chomping at the bit to get Georgia back, so I’ll have to work on her.”

Jane added: “She’s gone off and done some great things.”

Leanne and her clan have been in Weatherfield for a staggering 10 years – something Jane said she’s amazed by.

The Battersbys ruffled a few feathers on Coronation Street when they first turned up, thanks to the antics of Janice and Les. She had an affair which left her hubby broken-hearted. Les tried to commit suicide, but during the journey to the hospital, was involved in a crash that ended up killing Janice’s lover, Dennis.

Leanne endured an illicit marriage, an abortion and cocaine addiction, before having a fling with Jamie Baldwin – and his father Danny.
And being the youngest member of the family didn’t mean Toyah was spared any drama.

In 2001, the character was brutally raped by her ‘friend’ Phil, and the harrowing storyline, which Georgia described as ‘exhausting’ gripped heartbroken viewers.
