Coronation Street executive producer Stuart Blackburn has dropped some big hints about upcoming storylines, revealing he has decided who the father of Kylie’s baby will be.
Stuart talked to Digital Spy about returning characters and what’s in store for the Street’s residents.
Asked whether he had decided the father of Kylie Platt’s (Paula Lane) baby, he said: “Yes, we have! There’s a lot more to come with this storyline.”
Carla Connor (Alison King) and Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) are also in for more of a rough ride.
Stuart said: “There’s something so dark, brooding, passionate and tempestuous about them. I don’t think they’re destined for a life of cosy domesticity while I’m here.”
Fans of Coronation Street learned recently that cast favourite Beverley Callard would be returning as Liz McDonald.
“Liz is ‘proper Corrie’ for me, and one of those working-class matriarchs that the show does so well,” said Stuart.
Also making a comeback is Bruno Langley as Todd Grimshaw.
Stuart said: “Things haven’t been going so well, so it’s more of a damaged Todd that will return.”
