Corrie star Paula Lane announces she’s pregnant with her first child

Coronation Street star Paula Lane has revealed she is pregnant with her first child.

The 28-year-old, who married her long-term partner Tom Shaw last month, announced the news on Twitter.

She wrote: “SirTomShaw and I are thrilled to announce we have a Christmas pud in the oven! SURPRISE!”

The actress, who plays mum-of-two Kylie Platt on the ITV soap, received messages of congratulations from fans and co-stars.

Catherine Tyldesley, who plays Eva Price, said: “Awesome news!!! So thrilled for you! Yey!! (Cath rushes out to buy baby Santa/pudding outfits).”

Sophie Austin, who plays Lindsey Butterfield in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks, wrote: “I can shout about it now my lil @lane_paula is having a Christmas pud. Can’t wait to be an auntie again.”

Paula, who has dated Tom since she was 17 when they met at Huddersfield Tech, became engaged to him just before Christmas in 2011 and the couple tied the knot at Leeds Cathedral on May 17 this year.

Her Coronation Street co-star Jennie McAlpine, who plays Fiz Stape, has also recently announced she is expecting her first child.
