Coronation Street stalwart Helen Worth has married her boyfriend Trevor Dawson, in a star-studded ceremony attended by many of her co-stars.

The actress, who plays Gail Platt in the soap, tied the knot at St James’s Church in Piccadilly, in front of guests including Alan Halsall, Charlie Condou, Barbara Knox, Malcolm Hebden, and Samia Ghadie, who attended with her skater boyfriend Sylvain Longchambon.

Several members of Helen’s screen family were also present, including Sue Nicholls, who plays Gail’s mum Audrey, and co-stars Nick Price and Jack P Shepherd – aka her screen sons Nick and David.

Helen, 62, wore a silver silk and lace Bruce Oldfield gown to marry Trevor, a teacher who is seven years her junior.

And afterwards she told her guests it had been a ‘fantastic day’.

“It has exceeded all expectations,” Helen said. “We are thrilled that so many of our friends and family could be here to celebrate with us.”

A guest told the Sunday People that the ceremony was “very beautiful and moving”.

“Helen was delighted that so many people had turned up to see her tie the knot,” the source added. “There were cheers and applause as she emerged from the church.

“She thanked everyone for coming and told everyone how happy she was.”

And guests were transported to the reception at the Ritz on two vintage double decker buses.

“Helen pulled out all the stops and made sure her friends and family had a memorable day,” the guest revealed.

“The Ritz is only yards away from the church but having the red double decker buses made it extra special.”
