London Coronation Street fans could get the chance to see a play about the soap on the West End stage.

Corrie!, which is narrated by former Street star Charles Lawson opened at The Lowry in Salford to glowing reviews, is reportedly set to move to London.

According to the Sun, bosses are so pleased with the success of the show so far that they are looking for a suitable venue in the capital.

A source told the newspaper: “We knew it was a great play, but we’ve been bowled over by how well it’s gone down.

“We’re in talks with London theatres and we hope to have something tied up soon. Hopefully it will rank as one of the West End’s top theatrical nights out.”

The play, written by Jonathan Harvey, condenses the 50-year history of Coronation Street into just two hours, with just five actors playing the parts.
