Coronation Street’s Alison King reckons the prospect of marriage will lead to further excitement for Carla Connor in Weatherfield.

After rejecting a shock proposal from Underworld factory boss Frank Foster (Andrew Lancel), Carla soon changes her mind next week and says yes following a confrontation with the man she really loves Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne).

“I think Peter thinks there is more to her saying no than meets the eye. He thinks it’s all about him – he’s a selfish so-and-so and he’s got a big ego,” she told the Coronation Street website.

“Peter’s response to her saying no has maybe wound her up a little bit. And Carla quite quickly does a U-turn.”

But Carla and Frank’s upcoming nuptials could soon send Peter into a spiral, says Alison. And that could lead to thrills and spills, not just with the love triangle, but also with Peter’s wife Leanne (Jane Danson).

“I think that Peter is going to feel that the marriage is happening a bit too soon and he’s really doubting her motivation for all of it,” she continued.

“I think we can expect a few more fireworks between them. I would say it’s going to go bam!”
