Speaking about the star-studded event, with guests including Justin Timberlake, Josh Hartnett and Tom Hiddleston, Ben laughed: “Maybe I should be [star-struck], but I’m not! It’s a nice night to see people you haven’t seen in a long time, and old friends.”
Soaking up the atmosphere on London’s Southbank, Ben, who plays stressed businessman Nick Tilsley in the soap, said: “There’s some amazing television on at the moment, it’s nice to celebrate that.”
He was also full of praise for Coronation Street’s exiting producer, Stuart Blackburn, and new producer Kate Oates: “Kate has done a great job on Emmerdale, so it’s exciting. Stuart Blackburn did a great job with Corrie and it’s exciting we’ve got another impetus coming in.
“It’s great coming to the BAFTAs and seeing people you’ve not seen for a long time and celebrate the show.”
Although Coronation Street missed out on winning the Soap & Continuing Drama this year somehow, we doubt Ben’s overly bothered…
