James Fleet has described appearing on Coronation Street as a ‘privilege’ and admitted he was sad that he had been killed off so early.
On Thursday night, viewers watched as James’s character Robbie was shot dead in Underworld by evil Tony Gordon (Gray O’Brien), after helping him escape prison.
When asked if he was sad to have been killed off so soon, the Vicar of Dibley star said: “I am. I dropped so many hints and I was trying to rewrite the script all the way through. I thought: ‘I could survive this!’.
“I was trying to be a regular character – but they wouldn’t have it.”
