Coronation Street‘s Graeme Hawley will have to use a golf buggy during the soap’s live episode because he is in so many scenes.
Graeme, who plays hapless John Stape, will have his work cut out during the hour-long broadcast on Thursday, December 9, which marks the show’s 50th anniversary.
Fans will see John’s tangled life get even more complicated on Monday night, and the drama will unfold further as the week continues.
Coronation Street producer Phil Collinson said: “Graeme is in more sets than anyone else. We’ll put him in golf buggy and spin him all over the place.
“He’s got something to come back and clear up.”
Meanwhile, Jennie McAlpine, whose character Fiz Stape is six months’ pregnant, said of the episode: “I don’t have to move very much. It’s quite good. But my husband has to move quite extensively.”
Coronation Street’s special week of anniversary episodes begin on Monday, when a tram crashes onto the cobbles.
Fans will see beyond Weatherfield for the first time when the smash exposes streets behind the viaduct.
