Coronation Street actor Michael Le Vell has said that his co-star Maggie Jones is recovering well after emergency stomach surgery and has “got all her naughtiness back”.
The 75 year old actress – who plays Corrie favourite Blanche Hunt – fell ill earlier this week.
Michael, the actor behind Street mechanic Kevin Webster, explained to The Sun that Maggie’s sister visited the soap stars to tell them that she was recovering.
He said: “She told us Maggie has got all her naughtiness back. Things are looking up now and we are just hoping she makes a speedy recovery.
“We just want her back on set, she is massively important to the show, but the main thing is that she gets better.”
Michael added: “She is one of the greatest comedy actresses of all time, she is a legend.”
A Coronation Street spokesman said: “We are really encouraged by her progress, she is showing great fight and resilience.”
Maggie has been written out of the soap until the New Year.
