Corrie’s Michelle Keegan denies she was wearing make-up in charity selfie photo

Michelle Keegan has denied that she wore make-up in her bare-faced charity selfie.

The Coronation Street star joined the social media craze for posting bare-faced photos along with a donation to Cancer Research UK, but came under fire from some Twitter followers who claimed she was in fact wearing make-up in the snap.

But Michelle responded to the criticisms, saying: “I got 14.000 favourites with that pic, if everyone donated that means the charity got £42.000….did u donate! Probably not!”

She added: “And just for the record I actually wasn’t wearing make-up! Stop being so negative it’s for charity U silly boy!”

The fundraising campaign was not organised by Cancer Research UK, but ended up raising £8 million in just six days for the charity as the trend for posting the photos spread among social media users.

Michelle plays Tina McIntyre in Coronation Street, but is due to be killed off in a murder plot and recently confirmed she would film her final scenes in April.
