Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas has been questioned by cops over allegedly fleeing the scene of a car crash, according to the papers.
The Sun reports that the 25-year-old – who plays Jason Grimshaw in the soap – was also quizzed over allegations that he persuaded a pal to claim he was behind the wheel at the time of the accident.
According to the paper the crash happened in the early hours of Saturday morning last weekend, with Thomas allegedly fleeing the scene after he drove into a lamp post in Manchester city centre.
Paramedics attended the scene and treated a man for shock, who was then breathalysed by police and arrested for drink driving.
However Thomas is reported to have had a change of heart and attended a police station on Friday, where he was quizzed about the incident for over an hour.
He was not charged or arrested but faces further questioning.
Police were called following a report of a collision,” a spokesman for Greater Manchester police told the paper.
“Officers attended and found a Chrysler had collided with a lamp-post. A 25-year-old was interviewed by police on Friday 6 November 2009.”
