Coronation Street actor Michael Le Vell is reportedly trying his hand at directing on the soap.
Michael plays mechanic Kevin Webster in Corrie but has been off screen while on trial for alleged sexual abuse, of which he was cleared, and while seeking treatment for alcohol abuse.
According to the Daily Mail, Michael has been spotted directing the co-star Chris Gascoyne, who plays Peter Barlow, during shooting on location for an upcoming murder trial.
The scenes would mark Michael’s directorial debut if he has been taking the helm on Coronation Street.
He was seen chatting to cast and making tea as well as taking control of the scene, where Peter arrives to give evidence at the trial for the murder of his lover Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan).
Tina’s murder is set to be shown later this month and although viewers will see the killer as it happens, four endings for the character have been filmed to make sure that the identity stays a secret until it screens.
So far, Peter and his rival Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis) are two of the most likely suspects.
Peter has been regretting his affair and Rob’s sister Carla (Alison King) is married to Peter, so he would be furious if he discovered the betrayal.
