Helen would like to return as Rosie
Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan has said her character Rosie Webster will depart Weatherfield in “hilarious fashion” as the actress heads off on a maternity break.
The 27-year-old actress, who is pregnant with her second child, is currently shooting her final scenes as Rosie and said “it was really emotional”.
Speaking to Loose Women, she said: “I’ve absolutely loved it, going back. I’ve loved it so much, it’s brilliant.”
Talking about her exit, she added: “I’m going out in very much ‘Rosie’ style. The storyline is hilarious, actually. It is really, really funny.
“I’ve really enjoyed that about my character, doing the comedy. I’ve really enjoyed doing that.”
Helen recently shared this snap of herself with Sally Dynevor (who plays her screen mum Sally Webster), declaring: “Going to miss everyone so much especially my screen mum and sister @Brooke Vincent”.
It is not yet known when Helen will return, although she has made clear she would like to come back, saying on Instagram: “Definitely want to return as Rosie just not sure when that will be.”
Helen first joined Coronation Street as Rosie in 2000, before leaving in 2012. She then returned to the ITV soap in February 2017.
