Coronation Street star Jennie McAlpine has spoken about dropping three dress sizes and gaining a completely new figure.
The actress – who plays curvy Fiz in the soap – told The Mirror: “I don’t go in for all the diet plans and worrying yourself silly over how much you weigh. Ice cream is bad, salad is good – it’s not rocket science!
“If you eat more of the good stuff and take more exercise then you’ll lose weight. But it’s really not worth beating yourself up over it.
“I know there’s pressure in this business, but I can honestly say I’ve never felt it myself. I’m not saying I let it wash over me because of course I’m aware of it, but I don’t let it bother me. I just think there are far more important things going on in the world.”
Fiz is currently the focus of a storyline where she is planning to marry jailed teacher John Stape – something street busy body Sally Webster won’t be happy about.
Jennie revealed that it’s only a matter of time before the on-going arguments between Fiz and Sally get physical.
Jennie said: “I love those scenes where me and Sally get to scream at each other across the street or I smack her over the head with a handbag.
“The two of them are about to give each other a real emotional battering over this wedding. But it can’t be too long before Fiz really smacks her one.”
