Katherine Kelly has said she would never fancy doing a live episode again.

The Yorkshire-born actress, who plays Becky McDonald in Coronation Street, participated in the ITV soap’s nail-biting 50th anniversary milestone last December.

“I would never want to do it again. The adrenaline was pumping but that was definitely my proudest moment at Coronation Street,” she said.

“I’ve had some wonderful episodes, but they don’t compare to that.”

Katherine, who will be filming her final scenes on Coronation Street in December, had thought about leaving after Becky’s dream wedding to Steve McDonald (Steve Gregson) in 2009.

“She had met her knight in shining armour, but I loved Corrie and didn’t feel ready for it at that point. It felt like the beginning of a new chapter,” she recalled.

Then came the soap’s 50th anniversary, and the explosive live episode last December.

“To get a cracking part like Becky and be here when we were filming the 50th and be one of the six storylines on that night of the live episode, was just a great time,” she added.
