Coronation Street star Katherine Kelly says her six weddings as an actress mean she’s in no rush to tie the knot in real life.
The 29-year-old, who plays newlywed Becky McDonald in the soap, split from her boyfriend of five years, actor Oliver Williams, earlier this year.
She told Closer magazine: “As for getting married, I don’t have strong feelings really – I can take it or leave it. I’ve already been married six times in my career as an actress – twice as Becky – so I think a wedding of my own might feel like too much work!”
Becky’s marriage to pub boss Steve McDonald has seen her become a stepmum to Steve’s daughter Amy, but Katherine, who turns 30 next month, said she’s not feeling broody yet.
She said: “I’ve never been a person to wish for stuff – I just take it as it comes. What is happening now to me in my career is amazing, so I dwell on the things that are happening, rather than the things that aren’t, because what’s the point? It doesn’t make them happen.”
