Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan has talked about the sort of roles she would like to take on now that she has left the soap.
Michelle has played Tina McIntyre on the ITV show since 2008 and has now shot her final scenes, where she is murdered, although they won’t screen until May.
She told OK! of finding new work: “I don’t think it’ll be easy by any means. I like the idea of challenges, auditioning and getting new roles and feeling excited about the new scripts that I’ve been sent through.”
Michelle revealed her Coronation Street co-star Alan Halsall, who plays Tyrone Dobbs, thought she’d make a good Bond girl, but she wasn’t so sure.
She said: “Alan, ring the producer of Bond and get me in there! Let’s do something about it. Alan loves Bond and he sees it. I can’t say I see it but I’ll take that.”
The 26-year-old, who is engaged to former The Only Way Is Essex star Mark Wright, denied rumours she had signed up to the next series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
She said: “I’ve never said I’ve wanted to do the jungle ever. I love watching it, but I haven’t said yes to any of those types of shows.”
Of other reality shows, she added: “I don’t want to say never because I don’t want it to come back and bite me, but right now I’m concentrating on my acting career.”
Michelle said that she would consider moving out to Hollywood for pilot season: “If my agent said it’s a good idea for me to go then I would. But you don’t need to go to Hollywood for pilot season because you just need to put things on tape and send it over.
“Having said that, I would love to go and live there for a few months.
“[Mark’s] got a manager over there so he’d probably come with me. I don’t know what’s going to happen in the future with work – that’s what I love about my life at the minute.”
