Michelle Keegan: ‘I’ve no regrets about leaving Corrie!’ (VIDEO)

On the BAFTA red carpet tonight Michelle Keegan reveals to What’s on TV she has no regrets leaving Coronation Street. She also told us that – despite the rumours – Ordinary Lies has yet to be recommissioned.

Talking about her shock exit from Corrie, where she played Tina McIntyre from 2008 to 2014, Michelle, 27, said: “I’ve never looked back once and regretted leaving. I had the most amazing time, but it was the right decision… even though it took me a few years to decide it!”

That said, Michelle explains she looks back on her time on Corrie with immense fondness. She’s also looking forward to hanging out with her former co-stars tonight to celebrate their nomination in the Soap & Continuing Drama category, alongside Casualty, EastEnders and Hollyoaks,

“I miss everyone and can’t wait to catch up and find out all the goss!

“I still pinch myself that I was on Coronation Street! I was such a massive fan – so the fact I was on it, it’s so weird. Still! I look back on it [and think] ‘was that a dream?’”

BBC1’s popular new series Ordinary Lies, which finished its six-episode run last week, is Michelle’s first role after leaving Coronation Street. With the final episode left open-ended speculation is rife that a second series is definitely in the bag.

Michele revealed, however, this isn’t the case: “We haven’t had it 100 per cent, set in stone that it’s coming back yet. We had a great response from the public, so fingers crossed that the BBC bring it back.”

Good luck to Michelle and Coronation Street tonight. And stay tuned to WoTV for more breaking BAFTA TV news…
