Coronation Street was hit by a real life drama when an actor collapsed on set prompting bosses to call 999.
Bruno Langley – who plays Todd Grimshaw in the ITV soap – was filming a night shoot on location in Manchester City Centre last night when a guest actor fainted and fell face first on the pavement.
Bruno was preparing to film a scene in which Todd is attacked by a gang of thugs when one of the actors passed out.
The injured actor – who isn’t a regular in Corrie – bumped his head and an ambulance had to be called to the scene.
A Coronation Street spokeswoman said: “The actor in question sustained a minor injury when he fell during filming. He was taken to hospital as a precaution, but he is fine and well.”
After a short break in filming, the director chose an extra to replace the original actor so that the scenes could be completed.
