Coronation Street chiefs have put four characters in the frame for Tina McIntyre’s murder in a bid to ramp up the tension over how Tina – played by Michelle Keegan – dies in a fall.
And you can watch exclusive scenes between Tina and the four murder suspects at www.itv.com/coronationstreet/who-kills-tina from 12noon on Monday, May 19.
The suspects are: Carla Barlow, Peter Barlow, Rob Donovan and Tracy Barlow.
Each of them has been filmed having a fight with Tina at the builders’ yard.
You can see Tina battle individually with Carla, Peter, Rob and Tracy, but only in the scenes aired on Tuesday, May 27, will viewers see Tina fall.
But it won’t be until Monday, June 2, that we see Tina lose her fight for life in hospital.
So, who do you think did it?
They all have a motive…
Carla (Alison King) is pregnant with Peter’s baby and totally committed to their marriage. She thought Tina was her friend and is going to feel utterly betrayed when she finds out Tina was having an affair with her husband, Peter. She asked Tina to help keep Peter off the booze, not knowing Tina would distract Peter with kisses and talk of a life away from Weatherfield. We know Carla has a temper. Will she fly into a murderous rage?
“Carla has stuck by Peter through thick and thin and Tina has been her friend throughout it all – or so she thought. When she discovers about the truth about Peter and Tina it will destroy her,” says Alison.
“When Carla is angry there’s no stopping her, she will feel betrayed by both Tina and Peter. She knows Peter is a weak man, she won’t forgive that but the betrayal by Tina is different.
“When Carla confronts Tina emotions will be running high and hell hath no fury like a woman scorned!”
Peter (Chris Gascoyne) is a weak addict… booze, gambling, women. It seems he just can’t help himself. But what will Peter do when he thinks he’s going to lose Carla and their baby? Will he think that the only way he can hold his marriage together is by getting rid of Tina?
“Peter has made many, many mistakes in his time. Is he capable of murder? Well, maybe if it was an accident!” says Chris.
“Peter never really loved Tina. He said he did but he didn’t. Carla’s the love of his life and he’s desperate to save his marriage so getting rid of Tina could be the only option.”
Rob (Marc Baylis) is an ex-con – and very worried about becoming a present convict again. He knows that Tina knows he’s up to some funny business at Barlow’s Buys and might take desperate measures to make sure she doesn’t tell anyone else.
“Ever since his brief fling with Tina, Rob has been very wary of her. He has managed to win Tracy back and their business is on the up but he knows that Tina could bring it all crashing down.
“Rob’s not someone who is afraid of confrontation and will be determined to try and persuade Tina to keep quiet about what she knows about the business. If she refuses then who knows what could happen.”
Tracy (Kate Ford) is just psycho enough to do it. She has killed before (ex-lover Charlie Stubbs) and was freed from jail after forensic evidence was discredited. Will Tracy think she can do it again?
“Tracy has never really forgiven Tina for kissing Rob and trying to take him off her and for her campaign to try and close down Barlow’s Buys when they first opened,” says Kate.
“Now that she knows that Tina has rumbled their dodgy dealings with Tony it may be that she thinks enough. But Tina is every bit as feisty and Tracy might have bitten off more than she can chew trying to keep her quiet.”
