Sue Cleaver is back on set filming her scenes for Coronation Street after being taken to hospital.

The 46-year-old actress and diabetes sufferer, who plays factory employee Eileen Grimshaw in the ITV1 soap, left the TV studios after feeling unwell and was sent to hospital for further checks.

“Sue felt ill on set and was taken to hospital as a precaution,” a spokeswoman for the show said.

“She is back in work filming today.”

Her co-star Antony Cotton – better known as Sean Tully – tweeted: “Just so you know – Sue Cleaver is fine now. She is stood next to me on The Street and she is as sparkling and fabulous as ever.”

A set insider told The Sun that Sue appeared to have a ‘collapse’.

“Sue was looking pretty off at around 9am just as we were getting things ready for filming. Then all of a sudden, she just seemed to collapse and everyone was panicking,” they said.

“The on-site medics were called and they were very quick to get to her. She informed them that she was having some kind of attack brought on by her diabetes… An ambulance was called and she was taken to hospital just to be on the safe side,” the source added.
