Former Coronation Street star Tina O’Brien is being lined up to return to the soap, according to the News Of The World.

The paper reports that Tina – who spent 11 years on the show as Sarah-Louise Platt – is set to sign a deal which would see her returning to the set in late autumn, just two years after she left.

And the 25-year-old is tipped for a sensational Christmas storyline with her co-star and real-life partner Ryan Thomas.

“It’s the talk of the set,” an insider told the paper.

“There’s a real buzz about the place now that it looks like Tina is returning.”

Tina left the soap after Sarah-Louise left her onscreen husband Jason, played by Thomas, for a new life in Italy.

She has taken a break from acting since giving birth to daughter Scarlett, her first child with Thomas – but has reportedly been saying she is now ready to go back to work.

She has already turned down a string of offers, including the chance to appear on the next series of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!

“Tina will have devoted a year to little Scarlett when the time arrives that ITV are talking about getting her back on board,” a friend of the couple said.

“She had a big money offer to go on I’m A Celeb . . . but turned it down because she didn’t want to leave her girl.

“She’s 90 per cent certain she wants to go back in but wants to be completely sure before she commits herself.”
