Anthea Turner has become the fourth celebrity to exit Dancing On Ice 2013 following Sunday’s school disco-themed show.

The TV presenter crashed out of the competition after finding herself in the skate off with Keith Chegwin – both of whom were skating for survival for the second time.

However after both had performed their ‘save me’ skates – Anthea to the Nina Simone classic Feeling Good, Keith to Rihanna’s Disturbia – the judges were in no doubt who they wanted to save, with only Ashley Roberts voting for Anthea.

“You are always reliable,” Karen Barber told her, “You gave it everything you got but tonight I am saving Keith.”

Robin Cousins added: “You both skate so well but Keith you skate divinely.”

Anthea took the defeat graciously, saying: “I’m a little bit wobbly because I’m going to miss all my friends here.

“But Robin’s right – I’ve probably got to my level when it comes to skating.”

She also gave “a million million thanks” to her skating partner Andy Buchanan, and also paid tribute to the production staff, saying: “Dancing On Ice has the best team in television.”

Earlier in the show Anthea had received a mixed response with her routine to the Donny Osmond hit Puppy Love.

“You look lovely,” Robin told her, “But I’ve not seen one step that’s not been manipulated by this man next to you – you rely on him.”

Jason Gardiner added: “I’ve enjoyed you up to now – this week you were like a bottle of cheap champagne. There was too much fizz.”

Anthea is the fourth consecutive woman to leave the competition following the departures of Pamela Anderson, Lauren Goodger and Oona King in previous weeks.

Just two female contestants remain in the competition – gymnast Beth Tweddle and Coronation Street star Samia Ghadie.

By contrast no male contestant has yet been eliminated – with Matt Lapinskas, Joe Pasquale, Shayne Ward, Luke Campbell and Gareth Thomas all making it through to next weekend along with Keith.
