Dancing On Ice star Duncan James has frozen the release of his new single because of TV and theatre projects.

The 28-year-old told The Sun that he’s stopped recording the single Amazed, which was due to hit the shops in a few weeks.

“I’ve decided not to release the single Amazed because there’s so many other exciting things going on at the moment,” said the hunky star.

The singer-turned-skater has apparently come to an arrangement with his record company EMI, which means he can put all recording on hold – even though the Amazed video, in which he is attacked by gangsters, has already been filmed.

He says he’s been inundated with attractive TV offers, including BBC1’s Lottery show.

“There are some amazing offers coming in for TV presenting and theatre roles, so I want to focus on those,” he said.

Duncan’s agent confirmed the story and added: “Duncan has pulled the release of the Amazed single to focus on TV and theatre projects for the time being. He may return to music releases next year.”

Duncan sold 11 million records with Blue and launched his solo career in 2004. But he has not yet had the same level of success as a solo artist.
