With just eight couples remaining, the competition is hotter than ever
in Dancing On Ice 2011 – but which celebrity would be hanging up their
skates this week?
Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean began this weekend’s show, which featured a series of routines inspired by dances from around the world
Laura Hamilton kicked off the competition part of the show, skating first for the first time and impressing the judges with a lively Charleston
Second on to the ice was Jeff Brazier, who was hoping to avoid another brush with the skate-off
His Viennese Waltz landed him a respectable score of 22.5 from the judges – but would it be enough?
Denise Welch’s samba proved to be a hit with the public, but the judges – in particular Jason Gardiner – weren’t so sure
Vanilla Ice showed off a different side to his personality when he took to the rink for a tango
The panel praised the rapper for his efforts – but would it be enough to win over the public?
Sam Attwater and Brianne Delcourt were next and they triumphed with a Riverdance inspired routine, which featured some very complex moves
Their score – 27 out of 30 – was the highest so far this series and also saw the former EastEnders star scoring the highest individual marks anybody had yet achieved
Chloe’s routine, to Holly Valance’s Kiss Kiss, had a middle Eastern theme
Finally, Johnson Beharry VC took on a stylish Argentine Tango to the 80s hit She Drives Me Crazy
There was a surprise in the results show when Laura and Vanilla Ice found themselves competing in the skate-off
In the end though it was time to wave goodbye to Vanilla Ice – who took defeat graciously, saying he had had an “amazing” experience. Just six now remain in competition….
